Why this exists

A gap that's gone on
long enough.

Autism is significantly underdiagnosed in South Asian communities. Cultural perceptions around disability, language barriers, and a shortage of culturally competent professionals mean that many families go without answers for years.

There is often no space in South Asian homes to talk about autism. Not because families don't care, but because the stigma is loud and the resources are scarce. The Thambi Project exists to open that door. To fund the programs, amplify the voices, and build the community that should have existed long ago.

This is personal. This is purposeful. And it starts with showing up.

We're not fixing a community. We're building one.

Our Focus

Three pillars
of change.

Everything we do comes back to these three things. Awareness, funding, and the community to make it last.

01
Raising Awareness

We shine a light on autism within South Asian communities, where stigma too often silences families and delays the support they need.

02
Funding Real Support

Every dollar flows directly into community programs: therapy access, multilingual family resources, and advocacy work.

03
Building Community

We create space for South Asian families to feel seen, heard, and supported. Not isolated, not ashamed, but together.

Get Involved

Three ways
to show up.

A haircut. Your time. A donation. Every one of these things moves the mission forward in a real way.
